Itemizing your budget…

I encourage couples to determine a wedding budget that they can afford and agree on.  From there, break it down a little further.  I’m able to take that grand total and create an itemized budget that’s based on what’s important to you.  If I know that flowers aren’t important to you, instead of spending $1,500 for flowers your goal could be $500.  If you don’t want to spend $5,000 for a wedding gown, your goal could be $1,000.  That’s a dramatic savings all because you started with a goal.

By itemizing every category that falls within your wedding, you’ll be able to stay within budget and save money.

Shanique’s Summary | November

I have definitely been missing in action from our blog, Insight + Inspiration.  It’s been way too long!  Continue to stay tuned for some fun things in the next few months.

November has been a slow month for us, as far as day-of weddings and events go.  We’ve still been keeping busy maintaining current clients, networking with local vendors and preparing for some surprises in 2011.  October was {crazy} busy with 3 weddings and 1 huge community event that consisted of 500+ residents – which all happened earlier in the month.  I can’t wait to share some of those images.  We have been able to catch our breath this month.  Which was a good thing.

It’s officially engagement season for the wedding industry.  There is a substantial amount of couples that become engaged this month through February.  During this time we book several weddings for the coming year.

With that said, we’re offering 2011 couples a Mini Day-Of Wedding Package for $500.00 if you book our services by December 31, 2010.  Some restrictions apply, so contact us for additional details.

Our website has a new look.  You have to check it out here for yourself, it looks great!  Let us know what you think.

Wedding Day Itineraries

Don’t know what to include in your wedding day itineraries?  Then let us help you out…

Here are the main components to include:

  • Vendor Contact Information
  • Preparation Addresses (where you’ll be getting ready if off-site)
  • Special Songs (to be played throughout the day)
  • Wedding Party Line-Up (what order they will walk for the ceremony)
  • Venue Address & Directions
  • Set-up and Break-down Times
  • Wedding Flow (specific timeline)
  • Vendor Start/End Times
  • Wedding Party Names (for the photographer and DJ)

If you’ve hired a Wedding Planner, this should automatically be done for you.  If you’ve decided against a Wedding Planner, then it’s a necessity that you create one.  Be sure to have this completed 3-weeks before your wedding so that you can distribute to all of your day-of vendors (as a back-up also include your mom or MOH).

Enjoy your day!
